I was flying home from giving a keynote speech about accessibility at a tech conference recently. The airline gave me hassles about providing appropriate space for my service dog. While I’ll refer to some parts of the incident, I won’t go into the details here. But it made me think about airline policies for traveling with a service dog.

A recent Twitter conversation about XKCD comics show there is confusion as to what “alt text” is for images. The alt text should provide information about the image so that screen reader users can access the information in the image.

Diversity and Inclusion podcasts found to be not accessible
A recent tweet directed people to a post about “22 podcasts to increase your awareness around diversity and inclusion”. I was not surprised to discover that less than 14% of these podcasts have transcripts. Diversity and inclusion (D&I) expert rarely include disabled folks. Most D&I experts are ableist and discriminatory towards the disability community.
